Extrapolated Worlds

Home of science fiction author Doug Franklin

A wrecked starship. A dead man’s mind. In a desperate race across Mars, Maggie must unravel their secrets before the Tharks erase them forever.

The Extrapolated Man is a cinematic science fiction epic about the nature of consciousness and reality.

Commander Gray died when his experimental ship crashed on Mars, but a recording of his memories survived. After Maggie discovers the wreck a century later, she becomes the target of a psychopathic rival intent on stealing it, and a hive of weaponized lifeforms bent on erasing its very existence.

To survive she must resurrect Gray and master his secret: his ship was capable of traveling faster than light, which makes it an incredibly valuable and terribly dangerous prize, for a starship is the ultimate weapon of mass destruction.

In his own words, it’s “about the fraught relationship between inhabitants of a seaborne community and an orbital artificial intelligence tasked with mitigating climate change.” It’s a short story, but also the cover—once you get it in your hands, I think you’ll see why. The 6x9" paperback version of The Extrapolated Man became available on Amazon late last night. What a rush! (more)
